About Lens Tipping
Lens Tipping is a dynamic feature designed to empower you and your token holders to engage and reward content creators directly on Lens apps. Inspired by the innovative tipping system utilized by degen.tips with their $DEGEN token, this feature allows you to selectively enable your holders to tip others using your creator token. Set daily allowances and manage who can tip to ensure that your token's utility is maximized and aligned with your community's ethos.

Step 1: Go to the Lens Tipping App
Sign in to your Creator Portal. Navigate to the Lens Tipping page within the Apps tab.
Step 2: Accessing the allowlist for holders to tip
Click on Configure to access the allowlist for tipping on Lens. Here we are presented with two fields: Profile and Daily Allowance.
Profile is where you add the Lens username of the person for whom you want to enable tipping.
Daily allowance is where you add the daily token allowance for that user.
⭐ By default, this allowlist is empty. In order for you, the creator, to tip your own token on Lens, you must input your Lens username.
Step 3: Configuring the allowlist for holders to tip
Add the usernames of people that you want to allow to tip your token on Lens, as well as their maximum daily token allowance. Click on Add to add them to the allowlist.
It’s important to note two things: first, this daily allowance amount does not rollover. In this example, if user brobeans only sends 200 tokens out of their allotted 250, the remaining 50 do not roll over to the next day. Second, if user brobeans exceeds their daily allowance, the extra tips won’t count.
⭐️ A profiles daily allowance is re-set every 24 hours - midnight to midnight UTC time. The daily allowance of tokens are NOT sent to an allowlisted profiles wallet.
Step 4: Start tipping
You’re ready to start tipping on Lens! To tip, simply comment under a Post with the amount of tokens you would like to tip, a $ sign, and the respective token symbol.
In this example it would look like 200 $BEANS.
Tips received by eligible users are distributed weekly to the wallet linked to their Lens account.
⭐️Distribution of the Tips Received is sent the wallet linked to their Lens account is done every 7 days. P00LS calculates the last 7 days tips worth of tips, and sends all of them at once.
Shareable links allow you to share who has an allowance and who has received tips in real time with your community.
Step 1: Select "SHARE", next to Configure
Step 2: Add the Lens Profile you'd like to check in the search bar
Step 3: View the profile allowance and tips received
✨Users can check their profiles to see their updated daily allowance and tips received in real time. This page will reflect how many tokens a user has left as they tip tokens throughout the day, along with how many tokens they have received.
✨ By clicking on SHARE, users with an allowance can share how many tips they have left for the day, and use the link to create a Frame on Farcaster.
Step 4: View Your Tipping Leaderboard
On the first page that opens after clicking on "SHARE", scroll down to the bottom and select the "TIP LEADERBOARD" button to open the leaderboard page.
Step 5: Share with Your Community
Users can search their profiles to see where they land in your leaderboard, or to see who has received the most tips of your token! You can also use this link on Farcaster to create a frame!
